SOLD – Black Oak Burl Jewelry Holder Bowl
If you are into organic forms this Black Oak Burl Jewelry Holder Bowl will appeal to you. It is a food safe Oak Burl pedestal style spice bowl or jewelry holder.
The irregular shape is because “green” wood, meaning wood that is freshly cut from a tree that is not kiln dried will often crack or warp as it dries at air temperature. This is why you see cracks at the ends of logs lying on the ground. A woodturner often uses this drying process to create interesting art featuring the amorphous shape that is not always predictable. If the wood in made thin it will warp and not crack as the wood can move as it dries giving in an asymmetric form. The size is 4 inch diameter by 3 inches tall. You can check out other Wood bowls you may like especially this Ambrosia Bowl.
This item will be perfect in your home or as a gift to a special friend.
