The mouse is made from colored pencils and is shaped on a wood lathe.  He is painting himself on canvas of colored pencils.  As he spins around with his red beret, pallet of paints and brush in hand he is splattering paint on the floor and paint tubes are scattered all around.  The baby sheepishly peaks out from the base of the box.
