Planet Earth Bowl is Turned, Carved and Decorated with pyrography symbols for Sea Life, Water, Flora, Humans, and the Galaxy.  The size is 5 1/2 inches by 4 inches.  Pyrography is a wood branding technique.  Boy Scouts call them wood burners.  You remember them as being totally ineffective tools. They were toys and cannot be compared to the tools that artists and makers use to burn images onto wood.  The wood is Norfolk Island Pine which has the unusual characteristic of becoming translucent when it is soaked in Boiled Linseed oil for a few weeks. Hold this bowl up to the light and it is translucent and looks like tortoiseshell.

Keep out of direct sunlight
Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster.  I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
