Norfolk Island Jewelry Holder
Vase Jewelry Holder
This Norfolk Island Jewelry Holder vase features an extraordinary piece of wood from the Norfolk Island Pine tree. Norfolk Island Pine tree is unique in that the branches grow concentrically and not randomly as on most other trees. The 6 red dots are where the branches grew. The wood has beautiful grain markings from the growth rings and spalting.
How to make process
The rich color is achieved by soaking the form in linseed oil. This is a long and tedious process that takes several weeks. Hold it up to the light and some of the edges are translucent. The size is 5-inch diameter with a 2 1/2 inch opening. This style of woodturning is Hollow Form. The opening is smaller than the diameter. This Norfolk Island Jewelry Holder vase sits on a pedestal base.
This bowl is perfect as a Display Piece or Key Holder or Jewelry Keeper. It is food-safe. Signature by the artist on base, Alan Adler.

True Story on learning the craft
I was in an Art gallery in 2008 and on display was a Norfolk Island Bowl similar to this. It was by a well know woodturner. The cost was $3000. I was totally in love and even wondered how I would pay for it. I decided for $3000 it is possible to learn the craft and buy the equipment… and so here we are. Buy it now before I become famous and raise the price.
