Matisse Inspired Dancer Vase
Matisse Inspired Dancer Vase is from Matisse’s famous “The Dance” painting hanging in the Museum of Modern Art, NYC. Matisse is one of my favorite artists. Here is a link to the paining https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_(Matisse) This piece of wood art features turning a vase shaped on a wood lathe, drawing the dancers and then over several days at the studio bench carving, piercing and sanding. The wood has beautiful grain markings from the growth rings. The size is 5 1/2 inch diameter at the top by 5 inches tall tapering to 2 inch base with carved feet. My signature, Alan Adler is on the bottom.
This Matisse Inspired Dancer Vase is perfect as a Display Piece. It throws great shadows with the proper lighting. If you collect art or are starting out Matisse Inspired Dancing Vase belongs in your collection. Picture it as a centerpiece on a shelf. Surely it will be a conversation piece. If you want to see other Matisse inspired pieces to take a look at Matisse Falling Leaves.

Care for your Matisse Inspired Dancer Vase

- Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
- Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
- Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster. I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
