This is a beautiful large Butternut display platter.  The grain markings are spectacular.  There is a recessed rim around the entire top edge.  This design feature adds character to the form and makes it easy to lift the platter.  The size is 16-inch diameter by 2 1/2 inches high. Butternut is a gorgeous wood and is also known as white walnut.  
This will definitely be a conversation piece and will make a unique centerpiece in your home.

Keep out of direct sunlight
Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
Wax lightly with a quality food save wax or oil and buff to restore the luster.  I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
