Ambrosia Maple Salad Bowl
Ambrosia Maple Salad Bowl
Handmade on a wood lathe this turned Ambrosia Maple salad bowl features beautiful grain and colorful brown markings. The brown color streaks are created by the Ambrosia Beetle when he infests a maple tree. His cousin, the Box Elder Beetle leaves red streaks in the wood. The little black dots are holes where he enters and exits the wood leaving his artwork behind while unfortunately damaging the health of the tree.

Care for your bowl
- Keep out of direct sunlight
- Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
- Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
- Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster. I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
