Twisted Blue Bangle

Description

This Twisted Blue Bangle is handmade on a Lathe.  Then it goes through several secondary operations at the studio bench.  After the bangle form is complete a lot of bench time is spent on secondary operations.  These include carving and sanding the design.  Next I apply several layers of different color paint.  This bangle features a milk paint finish to create the retro look.

The inside diameter is 2 1/2 inches and an outside diameter of 3 1/2 inches. If you are searching for a solid bangle the most effective method to determine your size is by measuring a solid round bracelet you are comfortable wearing.

Making Jewelry

I began producing wood jewelry in 2010 with wood pendants and necklaces, Next was bangles, brooches and earrings. I love making bangles because there are so many styles and techniques to employ in the design. With this piece I start with a oversized ring and then carve the twist. I apply a layer of yellow milk paint and then cover the yellow with blue paint.  When dry I sand the high spots on the blue paint until the yellow shows through.

You will love this unusual bangle as will your friends.  This Twisted Blue Bangle will be an exceptional gift for that special friend who is comfortable wearing bold wood jewelry.  Thinking Birthday gift.  Take a look at other items that you may like in my store.  On the opposite side of the spectrum is this thin magazine bangle. Paper and Resin Bangle.
