FAQ
The Answers You Need
HOW YOU SHOULD CARE FOR YOUR WOOD PURCHASE
*Keep out of direct sunlight.
*Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels.
*Do not wash with water. If necessary, only use a damp cloth.
*Wax lightly with a quality Food Save wax or oil and buff to restore luster.
(I like to use Beeswax or Lemon Oil.)
Most of the wood I use comes from local tree cutting services that remove dead trees, cut for construction and development, or clean up from storm damage. There are a few species that I do purchase. They are from sustainable sources that I have usually visited and they are always licensed to be cut. Sometimes, I’ve approached tree cutting services on site and asked for the cut wood to avoid it from becoming firewood. They are always accommodating when I show them photos of my art. When the foreman is generous, I gift him a bowl.
DELIVERY
I personally pack and ship all items with care and love from my studio in New Jersey. The shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer and depends upon the destination, size and weight of the purchased item. Insurance is inexpensive and customers wishing to insure the shipment should notify me at the time of purchase. The insurance fee will be added to the invoice. Shipping can be via USPS, UPS or FedEX.
Currently, I only ship to customers in the U.S.
IMPERFECTIONS
You may notice small cracks and other irregularities in your piece. These are natural and unpredictable occurrences in wood. They are not considered defects by wood artists. Believe it or not, wood continuously moves as it adjusts to the environment—absorbing and losing moisture. If your piece develops a massive defect, an issue I have never yet had with any sold items, please bring it to my attention so it can be addressed.
ALL CUSTOM WORK OR COMMISSIONED ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE
Commissioned pieces cannot be returned as they were specifically made for the buyer. If you are unhappy about anything, please bring it to my attention.
PRIVACY
Your privacy will be respected. Your information will never be made available to any other party.
PAYMENT
Direct checkout and PayPal are preferred methods of payment. Both are safe and fast. If payment is not received within seven (7) days of the purchase date, the order will be canceled, and the item will be made available to others.
DAMAGE
Should an item be damaged during shipping please notify me immediately. I must receive notification within two (2) days of you receiving the shipment. Terms will be worked out for return and a suitable replacement. If a desired replacement cannot be found, the original purchase price will be refunded after the damaged item is received.
